MAKING IMPACT SINCE 2012

2012

- Our founder and CEO experienced the East African drought while living in Kenya. This inspired him to see the possibilities in agriculture as a huge catalyst to feed Africa, lift many from poverty and create wealth on the continent. 

2013

- He returned to Nigeria and began work on the first business plan for Tonyve Farms 

2014

- We were formally registered as a business in Nigeria with a bias for the poultry value chain in Nigeria.

- Same year, Tonyve Farms won an 8 million naira grant from the Youth Enterprise with Innovation in Nigeria (YouWiN!) programme of the then President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan. 

2015

- January: We acquired the first property for our production facility in Gbarantoru community, Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, Nigeria. 

- August: We completed first phase of construction and commenced operations in the concluded 2000 birds capacity poultry pen and a farm house

- October: We sold the first of broiler birds from our farm which were of the arbor acre breed. 

- We selected as one of the top SMEs in Nigeria's Niger Delta with the capacity for growth by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC)

2016

- We sold the first set of eggs produced by our laying birds of Bovans Black breed. 

2017

We expanded further our broiler production capacity 

2018

- We made Top 30 SMEs in Africa by the African Entrepreneurship Awards Morocco

- We raised expansion funding from the Bank of Industry and completed our second 2000 capacity poultry pen, staff residence and a 1,890-bird capacity brooding house fitted with battery cages. 

2019

- We further raised expansion funding due to market demand from foremost member based private equity firm, Brass & Books Financial Services. This increased our production capacity and market share.

- We introduced an online ordering and delivery system for chicken and egg sales within Yenagoa, the capital city of Bayelsa, Nigeria.

- We opened our second facility in the Igbogene area of Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, Nigeria with a capacity of up to 10,000 birds. 

- Our CEO was certified a Poultry Service Provider (PSP) by PIND-Foundation and Zoetis Alpha.

2020

We commenced operations on our third facility also within the Igbogene area with over 15,000 birds’ capacity in partnership with SME development firm, Zigha’s Ayibakuro Limited (ZAL).

Exactly 6 years after Tonyve Farms was founded, we launched our access to market and chicken products retail business, Chicken Palace, on September 1, 2020.
